- Albion KB Bridles

We are specialists in fitting bridles as well as saddles, and we welcome the opportunity to work with you in selecting the bridle best suited to your horse. Horses' heads come in an enormous variety of shapes and sizes, and we will build a custom bridle if necessary by mixing and matching parts of different bridles, adding custom bridle components, or combining bridle parts of different sizes to get the best possible bridle fit for your horse.

Albion KB Bridles

As with the Albion SLK saddle -- which has been an immensely successful collaboration between Albion and Klaus Balkenhol (right) -- every element of the highly humane (as well as beautiful) Albion KB Bridle has been carefully thought through in order to maximize the horse's capacity to perform to his highest level with the least interference and the greatest degree of comfort.

When we were first introduced to the Albion KB Bridle some years back, we were not initially great enthusiasts as we had not tried it personally and did not yet grasp how it was materially different from other padded crown bridles. Then a saddle client returned from a training trip to Germany raving about the performance difference this bridle had made in her international-level horse and she encouraged us to get a KB bridle and try it out on our own (somewhat lowlier) steeds.

They say nothing surpasses the zeal of a convert -- and we now surely qualify as zealous Albion KB Bridle converts. One of our event horses, an extremely sensitive Thoroughbred mare, responded almost instantly to the reduction in poll discomfort that she had apparently experienced in a conventional bridle. She was no longer tentative about accepting the contact and her whole body moved more freely, with markedly better engagement, relaxation, and submission.

We have since had a great deal of positive feedback from KB bridle customers using this bridle on a wide variety of horses. Not every horse shows such a marked improvement in performance, but in every case the rider can have the satisfaction of knowing that a potential source of irritation or even pain has been neutralized by the use of this unique bridle.
